Elon Musk announced that his company SpaceX is moving its headquarters to Texas, aiming to establish its facility, Starbase, as an official city.
SpaceX said he petitioned local officials for a city incorporation vote, with several hundred employees already living at the Boca Chica Beach site, where SpaceX's main office will be, while X moves to Austin. "SpaceX HQ will now officially be in the city of Starbase, Texas," Musk exclaimed in a social media post.
The move follows Musk's July announcement that both SpaceX and his social media platform would relocate from California to Texas, citing California's new gender identity law as the reason why.
