At least 270 arrested, 110 injured in Paris protests

At least 270 people were arrested during the protests of the so-called yellow vests in Paris, according to the Ministry of the Interior. 110 people were injured, including 17 police officers, and 190 small fires were put out. According to French media, the demonstration gathered some 75,000 people, while around 4,600 police officers were present.

The yellow vests gathered for the third time to protest the newly imposed tax on fuel, although the movement's focus has broadened to a more general expression of discontent with French President Emmanuel Macron and his government. Macron condemned the violence, stating its perpetrators "do not want change, they do not want any improvements, they want chaos."
