China's PM offers Musk permanent residency

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang offered Tesla's chief executive Elon Musk permanent residency, South China Morning Post reported.

Li (pictured right) and Musk (pictured left) met in Beijing after Tesla opened Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai. Musk reportedly said that he loves China and wants to visit it more often. "If you do, we can issue you a Chinese green card," Li replied.

The construction of the multibillion-dollar facility began three months after automaker bought the land at an industrial zone near Shanghai for $140 million. The company plans to produce there up to 500,000 cars a year within a decade.
