Dow set to drop 500 pts as market selloff continues

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was set to drop around 500 points at the start of the session on Thursday as the global market selloff continues. Fears of a possible slowdown of the US economy are still lingering, as well as concerns about the recent trade deal between Washington and Beijing. The chief financial officer of Huawei Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Vancouver and faces a possible extradition to the US amid allegations she helped the company evade Iran sanctions.

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was expected to sink 1.71% while the Nasdaq 100 was seen 2.12% in the red. The euro gained 0.36% against the dollar at 3:15 pm CET, buying 1.1386.
