Dow set to drop over 250 points at open as selloff continues

United States stock index futures pointed to a sharply lower open of markets on Thursday as the global selloff continues. Wednesday's tumble on Wall Street spilled over to Asian and European markets as well after the Dow Jones plunged over 800 points at the close. The Japanese benchmark Nikkei 225 tanked nearly 4% during today's session, while European equities opened red across the board.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was seen dipping 1.07% at the open or 274 points, the S&P 500 was expected to lose 0.91%, while the Nasdaq 100 was set to sink 0.85%. The euro advanced 0.33% against the dollar at 11:52 am CET, buying 1.15594.
