Dow sinks 200pts dragged by tech, Nasdaq down 1%

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 200 points on Friday weighed down by major technology shares. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 declined over 1.5%, while the broader S&P 500 ell over 1%.

Dow declined 0.85% at 4:43 pm CET. IBM, Intel Corporation and Apple led the losses, falling 2.50%, 2.25% and 1.90%, respectively. The Nasdaq 100 was down 1.21% at 4:46 pm CET, with Nvidia and Netflix iIc losing 3.38% and 3.20%, respectively. The S&P 500 dropped 0.74% at 4:53 pm CET, Hewlett Packard Enterprise was the biggest loser, tumbling 5.84%.

The euro was virtually flat against the US dollar, changing hands for 1.1384 at 4:56 om CET.
