Eurozone construction output down 0.3% in March

Seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector decreased by 0.3% in the Eurozone in March compared to the previous month, preliminary data released by Eurostat on Thursday revealed. Meanwhile, in the European Union the figure was down by 0.9% for the same month.

The decline in construction output in March was mostly due to a fall in building construction (0.3%) and civil engineering (0.2%), with the largest decreases recorded in Hungary, Romania, and France. On the other hand, the highest increases were recorded in Spain, Slovakia, and Belgium.
