Facebook sinks over 2% amid new data scandal

Shares of Facebook tumbled over 2% on Thursday following the release of documents implicating the company in a new scandal surrounding users' privacy. The documents released by British members of parliament suggest Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg and other executives made secret deals with developers to allow them special access to user data. The allegations were dismissed by Zuckerberg on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a report from BuzzFeed News claims the company's recent scandals have rattled employees, leading many to expect a shakeup in the coming weeks.

The social media giant dropped 2.06% at 4:17 pm CET.
