Hamas threatens to strike Israeli towns if Gaza attacks resume

Palestine militant organization Hamas warned on Tuesday it will fire missiles at the Israeli towns of Beersheba and Ashdod if the Jewish State keeps on with its missile airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. Earlier today, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said that the Israeli fighter jets have been striking targets across the Gaza Strip in response to "hundreds" of rockets indiscriminately fired at southern Israel.

The latest escalation of violence in the decades-long conflict between Israel and Palestine erupted after Israeli forces targeted a senior member in the Hamas military wing over the weekend, while the attack also claimed the lives of six Palestinians and one Israeli officer. Hamas responded by launching rockets at the southern Israeli settlements, one of which destroyed a bus in the town of Kfar Aza close to the border with Gaza. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged all sides in Gaza "to exercise maximum restraint."
