Industrial production in Japan up 2.6% YoY in April

Industrial production in Japan grew 2.6% on an annual basis in April, according to a revised report from the country's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, released on Thursday. Meanwhile, industrial output grew 0.5% compared to the previous month.

Shipments increased 3.6% year-over-year, while the seasonally adjusted index showed a growth of 1.6% compared to the previous month. Seasonally adjusted inventories were down 0.6% month-on-month, while a rise of 1.7% was observed on a yearly level. Inventory ratio dropped 2.6% compared to a month before, while the change from the previous year showed an increase of 0.6%.
