Israel claims it shot down drone from Syria

"A Syrian UAV," or unmanned aerial vehicle, was intercepted by a Patriot missile on Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces said. It added alarms were set off in Golan heights and the Jordan valley.

The aerial defense system identified the threat after infiltration and the rocket tracked the drone until interception, the announcement adds. IDF said it wouldn't allow the Israeli airspace to be violated and vowed to "act against any attempt to hurt its civilians." Fragments fell into the Sea of Galilee, the Times of Israel learned from the army. The aicraft went ten kilometers past the border, according to the report.
