Koreas hold high level talks to prepare for summit

High level representatives from South and North Korea met on Monday in the demilitarized zone to discuss the possible third summit on the highest level that could happen before the end of August. From Seoul, Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon was heading the delegation, while Pyongyang sent Ri Son-gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, as the chief negotiator.

North's Ri stated on the occasion: "With preparations underway for yet another summit in Pyongyang between the leaders of the North and the South, I believe that when we discuss this matter, we can come up with answers going forward to things that our people want and wish for."

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in previously agreed to have a third summit in autumn.
