Legislation protecting Mueller not needed - McConnell

There is no need for legislative action aimed at protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller as the Russia investigation is not under threat, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (pitured) said on Friday, according to the Hill.

"The Mueller investigation is not under threat. The president said repeatedly that he's not going to dismiss the Mueller investigation. He's said repeatedly it's going to be allowed to finish. That also happens to be my view," McConnell told stated.

Yesterday, United States President Donald Trump's lawyer Jay Sekulowhe stated that now former Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation won't affect the investigation headed by Mueller.
