May to postpone Brexit vote - report

United Kingdom's Prime Minister Theresa May could delay a vote on her Brexit agreement scheduled for Tuesday, according to a report by the Sunday Times. Several ministers and aides told the newspaper May will announce the decision later on Sunday. On Friday, the prime minister's spokesman said the vote will go ahead as planned.

May is facing substantial resistance to the deal both within her government and the opposition. The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), May's Northern Irish coalition partner, stated it cannot support the agreement due to its dissatisfaction with the backstop proposal. Meanwhile, the Labour Party added the Parliament " will have to reject this deal" and called on May to prepare a "plan B," while the Scottish parliament rejected both the current agreement and the possible no-deal Brexit.
