Microsoft overtakes Apple as most valuable company

Microsoft Corporation surpassed Apple Inc. in market capitalization after stock markets closed at the end of the week, becoming the most valued United States company once again.

Microsoft's shares rose 0.64% at the end of the trading session, giving the company the value of $851.22 billion, while Apple's dropped 0.54% for a market cap of $847.43 billion.

While the Redmond-based tech giant recently topped Apple's value during intraday trading in the past weeks, this is the first time it stayed ahead after the market close.
