O'Rourke considered top candidate for 2020 run - poll

United States Representative from Texas Beto O'Rourke is seen as one of the top candidates for the Democratic presidential run in 2020, a new poll by Harvard CAPS/Harris released by the Hill said on Monday. Joe Biden is still considered the most likely politician from the Democratic Party to win the primary, with 28% of the voters indicating they would vote for him, with Bernie Sanders taking second place with 21% of the voters' support. O'Rourke was rated third currently, with 7% of the voters opting for him.

"Beto is the kind of fresh face who could shake up the Democratic race,” Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll chief Mark Penn stated. "He starts off by blowing past some well-known names. Biden loses support upon his entry," he added.

18% of Democratic Party voters said they were unsure which candidate they would support for the White House bid, while 2% stated they would support a candidate who was not listed in the survey. Some of the candidates who polled lower, in the single digit domain, included Senator from Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren, Senator from New Jersey Cory Booker, Senator from California Kamala Harris, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
