Wall Street ends sharply lower, Dow drops 790 pts at close

United States markets closed with steep losses on Tuesday with the Dow Jones ending approximately 790 points in the red after President Donald Trump said trade negotiations with China would be finalized within 90 days unless they get extended. Trump said his trade and economic advisers will lead the talks with Beijing to see if a deal is possible. Meanwhile, US State Secretary Mike Pompeo stated earlier today that within 60 days Washington would end its obligations towards the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) due to Moscow's alleged violations of the agreement.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 3.06% below the flat line led by Caterpillar Inc. losses of 6.92%. The Nasdaq 100 dropped 3.78% at the closing bell. Micron Technology plunged 7.87%. The S&P 500 ended with losses of 3.23%. The worst trading stock was Advanced Micro Devices Inc. sinking 10.95% at market close. The euro traded flat against the dollar, selling for 1.1339 at 10:02 pm CET.
