O'Rourke's team in discussions with Obama campaign

Texas Representative Beto O'Rourke's team has been in discussions with senior operatives who worked on former President Barack Obama's presidential campaign, CNBC reported on Thursday citing multiple sources familiar with the matter. Although people close to O'Rourke, who ran against Republican Ted Cruz in the US Senate race this midterm election, say the politician has not hired anyone yet, it appears he is seriously considering challenging President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

Earlier this week, a new poll suggested the Texas representative is seen as a favorite for the Democratic presidential run. Additionally, his donors encouraged him to run for the White House following his closely-watch campaign.
