Pence: Bigotry, racism have no place in US society

United States Vice-President Mike Pence said that there is "no place" for racism, bigotry and hatred in the US society.

"Bigotry, racism and hatred run counter to our most cherished values and have no place in American society," Pence said in a statement released on the one-year anniversary of the violent clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia. "We condemn racism and violence in the strongest possible terms." Earlier, US President Donald Trump tweeted a similar message to mark the anniversary of the riots.

During a white supremacist rally last year, one person was killed and many more were injured when a man rammed a car into a group of counter-protesters who confronted the far-right group.
