State Dept: US, N. Korea communicate 'virtually every day'

The spokeswoman for the United States Department of State, Heather Nauert, said at a press briefing that conversations with North Korean authorities are taking place "virtually every day," through different means of communication.

"When I say conversations, that can be by phone. That can be by message. That can be email," Nauert explained. So far, there are no plans for US officials to travel to the isolated country, she added.

Earlier, the North Korean foreign ministry warned against the method of pressure that the US administration insists on, and rejected a denuclearization timeline put forth by the State Secretary Mike Pompeo. Still, a report came out that the regime in Pyongyang hopes for another summit between US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un by the end of the year.
