Trump considers US ambassador to Canada to replace Haley

United States President Donald Trump is considering the US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft (pictured back left) as the country's next ambassador to the United Nations, the Wall Street Journal reported.

People familiar with the matter say that Trump has been complimentary of Craft in private meetings and that she is also highly regarded among top White House officials.

Trump's consideration of Craft, who was involved in reworking the North American Free Trade Agreement that threatened to sore US-Canada ties, comes after White House official Dina Powell withdrew from consideration following Nikki Haley resignation.
