US' Iran deal withdrawal may hinder N. Korea settlement - Moscow

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov (pictured) warned on Thursday that United States' decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal could have a "negative impact" on finding a solution to the North Korea crisis.

Ryabkov added that Moscow will continue to adhere to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOOA) despite the fact that Washington pulled out from the agreement. The Russian official also called on all sides to "refrain from provocative actions" in an effort to resolve the crisis and achieve the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Earlier in the week, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump signed a document in which Kim agreed to a "complete denuclearization" in exchange for "security guarantees." However, Iran warned North Korea that it should keep in mind that the US may pull out from that agreement just as it did from the JCPOA.
