Wall Street opens lower in anticipation of interest rate decision

United States markets opened in the red on Thursday as investors kept anticipating US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision set to be announced later in the day. Additionally, US weekly jobless claims figure was released earlier, indicating a decrease of 1,000 compared to the week before. Meanwhile, the Walt Disney Company is expected to publish its quarterly financial report after the closing bell today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.21% at 3:30 pm CET led by Procter and Gamble Co. losses of 0.60% at the opening bell.

The Nasdaq 100 opened 0.48% in the red at 3:30 pm CET. The worst performer was Ctrip.com International, sinking 15.21% at 3:32 pm CET.

The S&P 500 decreased 0.31% at 3:30 pm CET. The worst trading stock was Wynn Resorts. dropping 12.36% at the open.

The euro traded flat against the dollar to change hands for 1.1437 at 3:31 pm CET.
