Wall Street seen flat as N. Korea threatens to cancel Trump summit

United States stock index futures pointed to a flat start of the session on Wednesday as North Korea threatened to call off the summit between Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump. Pyongyang warned that it would abort the process of denuclearization unless the US ends its "hostile policy and nuclear threats and blackmail." On the economic calendar, investors will focus on housing starts and building permits, which are both expected to decline, while Cisco systems will release its earnings report.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was seen 0.03% below the flatline, the S&P 500 was expected to start off flat, while the Nasdaq 100 was seen 0.03% above the flatline. The euro traded 0.28% in the red versus the dollar at 12:22 pm CET, buying 1.18040.
